Jodel wurde 2014 ins Leben gerufen. Die Idee entstand, als wir erkannten, dass es trotz unzähliger Produkte in der Tech Branche keine schnelle und einfache Möglichkeit gab, mit Menschen in unserer Umgebung in Kontakt zu treten.

Die Menschen hinter Jodel sind so vielfältig, kreativ und freundlich wie unsere User*innen. Wir sind ein Team aus mehr als 80 Mitarbeiter*innen aus über 25 Nationen, die in unserem Berliner HQ und auf der ganzen Welt vertreten sind. Jedes Teammitglied kommt mit einer anderen Perspektive und Herangehensweise an den Tisch – aber alle haben den gleichen Antrieb und die gleiche Motivation, die hyperlokale Community der Welt zu schaffen. Gemeinsam bauen wir die erfolgreichste Social-Media-Plattform in Europa auf und haben auf dieser aufregenden Reise jede Menge Spaß.

Niemand sonst tut, was wir tun - so einfach ist das. Wir leisten Pionierarbeit in der lokalen Kommunikation, und da Kommunikation ein menschliches Grundbedürfnis ist, ist unsere Arbeit einfach sehr, sehr spannend. Jodel was launched in 2014. The idea of Jodel started when we realised that despite countless products in tech, there was no fast and simple way to connect with people around us. The people behind Jodel are as diverse, creative and friendly as our users. We are a 70+ people strong team with over 20 nationalities, represented in our Berlin HQ and all over the world.

You will be able to fully explore the city you live in, listen in on all its vibrant communities and connect with your peers. No matter if it’s other pet lovers nearby or the local techno crowd: Jodel allows you to share memes and jokes, get news, ask questions and simply have fun. You can discuss everything from new hypes to modern-dating, organize help for social causes. And by doing all that you might even get to know new amazing people in your area.

Jodel will be closing the gap to easily share a togetherness with all the people you see in the physical world. As this works in your hometown, so it does when moving somewhere else. Whenever you’re travelling, you can be certain there are people around you that wonder about the same things. Is it still worth it to go to the Full Moon party here in Ko Pha-ngan or what are the best tricks for negotiations on the Marrakech market? And maybe, one day, you think about moving to New York so you teleport to its local feed and explore.
